Fish Microchipping and Readers from FishSafe UK
Introduction
Tracer’ microchips are distributed by Bayer, the market leader in UK Microchipping
(by a very large margin) and the world’s 4th largest animal health company. The ‘Tracer’ microchips used
for fish are identical to those used on dogs, cats, other pets and livestock. Manufactured to ISO standards (nos. 11784 and
11785), the microchips offer the latest, state-of-the-art Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. All products are
made to highest quality and fully backed by Bayer’s customer service and helpline. The
microchips are suitable for application to coarse, salmonids and ornamental fish of 1lb+ (0.5Kg+).

" The new lake at Bury Hill will provide the perfect showcase for the benefits of the ‘chips’.
They are harmless, permanent and invisible, but their unique, 16 digit code numbers are revealed when a special, hand held
scanner is passed close to the fish. In addition to the biosecurity and biological monitoring benefits, there will be no doubt
about the identity of each fish or its previous capture history."
